The obituary begins "Sweet, Dennis"; could there be a more apt description of Dennis Sweet? What a wonderful and caring husband, father, grandfather and Unc! To Kim, Wendi, Kerry and the rest of the family, in your sorrow, always remember how special Dennis was and how special you were to him. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
I have loads of good memories of my brother Dennis. He had a paper route for several years and one day he came home with a puppy that "followed him home". Mom didn't believe that but she let him keep it. Dennis named her Tex. Every Friday when he had money from his paper route he'd go "down Greenfield" as we called it and bought any Top Ten records he didn't have yet. In good weather he would put the 45 record player on our front porch and play the Top Ten records. A lot of the neighborhood kids would come to listen. He was a fun, caring guy and I'll always miss him.
Ah daddy, thank you for everything you've done for me and my babies...while you will be missed, we are so thankful you're at peace. Give momma hugs from us, continue to watch out for us, and KNOW we'll be ok!! Love you mucho!
I will always be positive and smart-alec. I will be funny whenever I can to lighten the mood when needed. You taught us all so much. You have watch us from the background, you knew when to be smart-alec, funny, serious, and strong when we couldn't be. You have filled many rolls in our lives, and I'm proud to have you as a grandfather and father figured role in my life. I will always miss you, but I know you are at peace. Love you always!
Mr. DENNIS SWEET
You don't know me, but I know of you...known of you since I was a teenager and being friend with your daughter your daughter Kim, she reflected who you are....I know she is a beautiful, intelligent, loving , caring, great mom/friend/professional. I have seen first hand all these things and would like to that you for having such a person you help create bless my life. As a soldier of 26 years I know when I was deployed in received messages from your daughter reminding me I need to come back home and to keep safe and the reason to be CAPTAIN AMERICA. Your daughter always calls me HERO, I always smile at it .. this is the woman you help create and make, one who knew someone needed to feel loved so far away. So I never got to thank you personally but I am sure you are listening. I will remind her to keep going and the reasons to keep strong and going, but she is strong just like you made her. Well Sir just wants you to know a stranger is thankful.
Dad, I'm going to miss your smile and ability to brighten a room. You will continue to help me through life's obstacles with everything you tought me. You are my inspiration. I love you
Just want to say that I am going to miss my dad so very much!!! He was always there for me no matter what kind of trouble I got into. He never turned his back on me when he definitely could have. Words cannot express how much I will miss him however I know that he is in a better place and finally at peace!!!!
